Runners from all over the area are preparing to have a truly rocking New Year’s Eve by participating in the first Father Time Invitational Road Race in Brooks, Ga., on Dec. 31.

Running into the new year is the theme of the race. The race will begin just before midnight so that the runners will start in 2005 and finish in 2006.

Open to everyone ages 12 and up, the race will provide a safe and healthy alternative to other New Year’s Eve activities. The proceeds, raised by entry fees and sponsorships, will be divided among the Fayette high schools’ cross country and track and field programs.

A number of volunteers are needed to help the race go smoothly and all runners and volunteers will receive a t-shirt. The entry fee is $25 and the entry form can be downloaded from The Citizen’s Web site, www.TheCitizen.com.
