Copper thieves hit Tyrone

The theft of copper wire in the tri-county area of Fayette, Fulton and Coweta continued Aug. 20 when a Tyrone business owner opened his doors to find $6,500 worth of the economically precious metal stolen.

After checking the premises of the Senoia Road business at 7:20a.m., the owner found that approximately 100 rolls of copper wire was missing. The value of the wire totaled approximately $6,500, said Det. Dean Johnson.
