Quad City Striders send 11 to AAU Junior Olympics in Knoxville, bring home 5 medalsWed, 08/22/2007 - 1:37pm

Michelle Stegall(Starr’s Mill) led QCS, qualifying in the 200- meter dash, 400-meter dash and the 4x400-meter relay. Stegall, the Georgia High School AAAA 400-meter champion, posted a personal record 54.45 in the semi-final round of the national event, and finished in fifth place overall. Lauren Crim(Woodward Academy), Mia Jones(Sandy Creek), Tayler Toles(Banneker) and Stegall ran a very respectable 3:58.53 in the Young Women’s 4x400-meter relay. Toles and Shauntia Mosley(Lovejoy) also qualified in the Long Jump. The 4x400 Intermediate meter relay team of Andrews, Courtney, Dean and Ashley Ballard (Northgate) had a strong showing, finishing with a time of 4:04. These young ladies are also the Georgia AAU and Georgia/South Carolina Region 3B state champions in the event. The Quad City Striders Track Club was established to teach each participant the fundamentals of Track & Field in a competitive environment in order to ensure positive performance on the track, in the classroom and in any field of endeavor they choose to pursue. 2007 Quad City Striders |
