Conley takes command

On Sunday July 22, Peter D. Conley became the Commander of U.S. Coast Guard Reserve Port Security Unit 301 in Cape Cod, Mass.

A celebration of family, friends and honored guest attended the celebration. Admiral Thomas Atkin, the new U.S. Coast Guard Deployable Operations Group Commander, was the guest speaker. Captain Little, the outgoing commanding officer hosted the ceremony.

Port Security Unit 301 is an active reserve unit that is ready to react to national emergences and is a key partner within the Department Of Defense with expeditionary force capability.

Family and friends gathered for a dinner after the celebration.

Conley’s individual awards include the Coast Guard Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Coast Guard Achievement Medal with three gold stars and the Commandant’s Letter of Commendation ribbon with one gold star.

In addition to his Coast Guard efforts, Conley works as a pilot for Delta Air Lines. Conley and his wife Beverly and their three children David, Daniel and Emily reside in Peachtree City, Ga.
