Gene and LaVanda Shellnutt of Fayetteville and Timothy Kirkpatrick of Lehigh Acres, Fla. announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Noelle Lavanda Shellnutt of Brooks, to Clayton Forrester Henkel, also of Brooks, son of James and Gail Henkel of Fayetteville.

The bride is the granddaughter of Walter Lonnie and Norene Ivie of Brooks, Bob and Polly Lura of Cape Coral, Fla., Sidney and Harlene Kirkpatrick of Flowery Branch and Herschel and Carolyn Gibbs of Blue Ridge. She is a 1997 graduate of Fayette County High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of Georgia in Athens. She earned a bachelor of science biology degree in secondary education, later adding a certificate for middle grades education. She is an eighth grade science teacher and guitar club sponsor at Booth Middle School in Peachtree City.

The groom is the grandson of the late Bob and Maggie Henkel of Corsicana, Texas and Frances Moyer of Fayetteville, and the late Luke Moyer of Lubbock, Texas. He is a 1994 graduate of Downington High School in Downington, Pa. and served as a gunner’s mate in the United States Navy. He was stationed in Chicago, Illinois and Leonardo, New Jersey. He presently is employed as a sales and repair technician for Heely-Brown in Atlanta.

The garden wedding will be Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at 2 p.m., at Southern Oaks in Fayetteville.A reception will follow the ceremony.

After a honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the couple will reside in Brooks.
