Joe Cullen “Jack” Williford Jr., 69, Fayetteville, died Dec. 5, 2005. He was born Oct. 14, 1936 in Bertie City, N. C. He was graduated from South Hampton High School, Hampton, Va., and the University of Alaska at Fairbanks. He was also graduated from the John Marshall School of Law. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve for 10 years as a sergeant. He always encouraged people to get involved in politics and to vote. Memorial services were at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Govenstein and the Rev. Sandra Fendley officiating. Survivors include his mother, Elsie Lee Williford, Fayetteville; stepmother, Dean Williford, Newport News, Va.; and a sister, Teresa Keesling, Lanexa, Va. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
