Meeting set for Thursday at Falcon Field

Peachtree City residents are invited to participate in a public forum Thursday night that will help shape the city’s future growth and development.

The forum will be held from 7-9 p.m. inside the terminal building at Falcon Field. The city is seeking input from residents to update its 20-year comprehensive plan, focusing on the specific needs of each village.

The airport is located at the end of Falcon Drive, which is located off the southern end of Dividend Drive in the city’s industrial park.

Although it is not officially considered a “village” by definition, the industrial park plays a significant role in the city’s economy, directly through paying property and ad valorem taxes and indirectly from wages paid to local employees.

The industrial park also has an affect on traffic in the area, as many employees of the industrial park don’t live in Peachtree City but instead come from other counties.

City officials have already identified the anticipated growth at Falcon Field as being one area that could have a positive or negative impact on future development.

Other meetings on the comprehensive plan have been slated for Sept. 13 at The Gathering Place recreation center, Sept. 27 at the Centennial subdivision’s clubhouse, Oct. 11 at the Kedron Fieldhouse and Oct. 25 and Nov. 8 at City Hall.
