The mayor and City Council of Fayetteville recently adopted several ordinances; two in particular were long overdue.

The parking ordinance forbids residents from parking their vehicles in their front yard, and maximum occupancy ordinance limits the number of adults allowed per household.

The citizens of Fayetteville should applaud the mayor and council for their willingness to take on controversial issues to protect your property values and quality of life.

Now, the county commission should display the same degree of determination and fortitude and adopt similar ordinances.

Fayette County is one of the most beautiful counties in Georgia, and we can keep it that way with the help of our elected officials.
