‘Spanish Night of Reflection’ set for Aug. 17 at Holy Trinity in PTCTue, 08/07/2007 - 2:30pm

Fr. Tom Forrest, C.Ss.R., a redemptorist priest who recently celebrated his 54th year of ordination, will give a “Spanish Night of Reflection on the Power of the Holy Spirit” at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City Friday, Aug. 17 from 7-10 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Forrest was one of the pioneers of the Catholic charismatic renewal in the early ‘70s, working closely with the late Leon Joseph Cardinal Suenens, and collaborating in many ways with Pope John Paul II. He is the founder of Evangelization 2000, a service of prayer, proclamation and formation. Evangelization 2000 has offices in all the continents. Fluent in Spanish, Forrest was a missionary in the Dominican Republic during the dictatorship of Trujillo and served many years in Puerto Rico. He was awarded the St. George Medal by Pope John Paul II, for his efforts in evangelization and he has travelled the world in its entirety numerous times. Forrest will speak in Spanish at Holy Trinity, and catechetical leaders, and those involved in ministry are encouraged to participate.
