This year’s Christmas Masses at the Catholic Church of St. Gabriel in Fayetteville will hold special significance for members. This is the last year they will celebrate Christmas in the current multi-purpose building. A new 20,000 sq. ft. sanctuary currently is under construction on the Antioch Road property and is expected to be completed by next fall.

“Our current worship area has been really special to those of us who have been here since our days as a mission,” a church spokesperson said. “We are really looking forward to our new church but this building will always be special. This being our last Christmas in it will make it really meaningful.”

St. Gabriel will celebrate Masses on Christmas Eve at 5, 8, and 11 p.m. One Mass is scheduled for Christmas Day at 10:30 a.m.

Because of construction, parking will be limited and those attending are encouraged to carpool or use the shuttle service which will be provided for the 5 and 8 p.m. Masses. Additional parking will be clearly marked and rides will be provided to the front of the church before and after the early services.
