The Fayette County Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday to accept Strack, Inc.'s bid of $279,140.44 for the construction of the Jenkins Road Pump Station project.

Strack, Inc. was the lowest bidder among seven total. The final price does not include hook-up.

The board has set aside $750,000 for the project.

"I hope we'll be out of the sewer business in the near future," Superintendent John DeCotis said.
