Coweta swimmers bring home GRPA state medals

Thirteen swimmers from Coweta County qualified earlier this month for the GRPA State Meet, which was held July 20-21 in Augusta.
A number of these swimmers advanced to the finals to earn state medals:

Emily Meilus (Girls 7-8), 25 yd. Backstroke - 2nd and 100 IM - 4th. Stacy Evans (Girls 9-10), 50 Freestyle - 1st, 100 IM - 2nd and 200 yd. Freestyle Relay - 4th. Olivia Decker (Girls 11-12), 200 yd. Freestyle Relay - 3rd. Elizabeth Evans (Girls 13-14), 50 yd. Butterfly - 5th, 200 yd. Medley Relay - 8th. Weston Dean (Boys 13-14), 100 IM - 7th and 200 yd. Medley Relay - 3rd. Myranda Kralman (Girls 15-18), 100 Freestyle - 6th, 200 yd. Medley & Freestyle Relays - 4th. Alex Kralman (Girls 15-18), 100 IM - 8th, 200 yd. Medley & Freestyle Relays - 4th. Jake O’Brien (Boys 15-18), 50 yd. Breaststroke - 7th. Jamie Wright (Boys 15-18), 100 IM - 6th, 100 yd Butterfly - 7th, 200 yd Medley & Freestyle Relays - 5th. Jason Weeks (Boys 15-18), 100 Freestyle - 8th, 200 yd. Medley & Freestyle Relays - 5th. Andrea Decker (Girls 15-18), 200 yd Medley & Freestyle Relays - 1st.

Dean, Meilus, the Deckers and the Evans competed as members of the Peachtree City Pirates this summer. The rest of the year, they train with the Douglasville Stingrays. The other swimmers all train and compete year-round with the Carrollton Bluefins swim team.
