• Fayetteville’s Brian Covington placed third in the 18-Hole Club Boys 13-14 division of an Atlanta Junior Golf event at the Griffin Country Club. Covington shot an 88. In the 18-Hole Club Boys 15-18 division, Peachtree City’s Patrick Steck placed second with an 81.

• Peachtree City’s Ariane LeBlond won a gold medal in the 18 and under Girls 1 meter and 18 and under Girls 3 meter division of the Georgia Games Diving Championships.

Fayetteville’s Ian Jones won a gold in the 7 and under boys 1 meter division.

• Julie Augustyniak and Melanie Schneider, both former soccer players for McIntosh High School, and former Fayette County goalkeeper Staci Pugh are on the roster for the playoff-bound Atlanta Silverbacks women’s team. The team defeated Fredericksburg’s Lady Gunners 5-0 last week and will open the playoffs in Minnesota tonight.
