The Newnan Theatre Company enters the second weekend of their production, “Playing Doctor,” this Friday night at the Coweta theater. This Artist Series show is a hilarious comedy written by the comedy duo William Van Zandt and Jane Milmore. This comedy of deception, mistaken identities, and surprises revolves around Rob Brewster, a struggling young writer. Rob’s parents paid for him to attend medical school, but instead he majored in journalism, but told his parents he had indeed become a doctor with a flourishing practice. When mom and dad pop in for a visit, Rob enlists the help of several friends to convince his parents he is in fact a doctor – with hilarious results. Directed by Dave Hanson, “Playing Doctor,” which opened July 19, will play July 27-29 and Aug. 2-4. Shows begin at 8 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. This production is presented in the company’s black box theatre space and seating is limited. Visit www.newnantheatre.com for more information and to order tickets online. Adult tickets are $12, senior and student tickets are $10. Reservations are suggested, call 770-683-6282 or email nctc@numail.org. login to post comments |
