Over 300 real estate agents from Rockdale, DeKalb, Newton Henry and Fulton counties attended the Lionsgate East open house in Rockdale County recently to tour the decorated model, walk through the many other models and floor plans and meet the members of the community's builder team including Tim Adams, Barry Milam, Frances Milam, E. Frank Miller, and Maurry Russell.

Sandi Graham of American Home Showplace (a subsidiary of Carpets of Dalton) decorated the model home in the neighborhood of 62 homes starting in the mid-$400,000s, and she earned accolades from virtually every agent on the tour.

"I've been in this business for 41 years," said Frances Milam, one of the five builders who constructed the model home — "The Diamond" — at 1201 Lionsgate Dr. "From the master suite to the entertainment center, this model does as good a job as I have ever seen of demonstrating how elegance, affordability, and comfort can be combined in one package."

In each room of the two-story, all-brick model home, American Home Showplace has placed an easy-to-read laminated card listing all the furnishings and accessories in the room and showing the price of each item. Potential home buyers can tell at a glance the precise cost of furnishing the room and how to use the $5,000 gift certificate that American Home Showplace awards to each Lionsgate East home purchaser.

"Agents and home buyers have been pleased to see just how far that $5,000 will go," said Coldwell Banker American Land Mart community agent Victoria Willis, who along with Cynthia Eagan staffs the Lionsgate sales center on a daily basis. Agents attending the open house were treated to a southern-style Thanksgiving lunch catered by Ask Mary and entered drawings for a variety of door prizes that included over $2,000 in cash and gift cards for restaurants and gas.

Lionsgate East is in South Rockdale County, convenient to Interstate 20, shopping and entertainment. Schools serving the community are Shoal Creek Elementary, Conyers Middle and Rockdale High.
