The Peachtree City 11-12 all-star team lost its opening game in the state Little League tournament in Brooks Saturday afternoon. Peachtree City retired their Buckhead counterparts 1-2-3 in the first inning, but Buckhead plated six in the second, in part on a three-run homer. Peachtree City tallied seven hits in the contest, with two coming from Evan Krug. Both of Peachtree City's runs, scored in the second and in the fourth, came from the players leading off the inning: Toren Carr and Ricky Colon. Peachtree City's next game is at 6 p.m. Monday. The tournament is a pool play format featuring the semi-final games Thursday and the final on Friday. The winner of the tourney goes to regional play with a chance to advance to the Little League World Series. login to post comments |
