Carolyn Harris

Carolyn Harris, 93, Fayetteville, formerly of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died July 12, 2007. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a long-time elementary school teacher in the Tuscaloosa school system. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa, where she was the organist, pianist, and choir director for several years.

Graveside services were at Memory Hill Gardens, Tuscaloosa, Ala. Survivors include her son, Merle and Betty Harris, Massachusetts; a daughter, Carol and Gene Key, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jeffrey Harris, and Katy Todd, Massachusetts, Scott Key, Huntsville, Ala., and Kimberly Key, Cumming, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Becky, Matthew, Hunter, and Tanner; and a sister, Sally Ferry, Des Moines, Iowa. Memorial donations may be made to Southwest Christian Care Hope House, 7225 Lester Road, Union City, GA 30291, or the Fayette Youth Protection Home, 125 Commerce Drive, Ste. D., Fayetteville, GA 30214. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
