An Atlanta man suspected in the violent assault of an elderly Fayette County man has been arrested.

Arnold Bernard Wesley Jr., 23, of 3901 Campbellton Road is charged with armed robbery and kidnapping. Police said that he hit the victim in the back of the head and stole several firearms from the residence on Lady Carolyn Court after the attack Friday afternoon.

Wesley is an employee of the victim’s lawn care service, deputies said.

In addition to knocking the victim unconscious, Wesley also bound his hands and feet with duct tape, and “drug him by the feet to the basement” where he was left with severe head injuries.

The victim was found by his wife, who had gone shopping, and he was flown to the hospital by a medical helicopter.
