If you have been even remotely associated with Real Estate in any way over the last thirty years or so, it is very likely that you have had the pleasure of meeting and/or working with Judie Leveritt. Judie battled cancer about seven years ago and has been cancer free. Recently the results of a routine doctor visit revealed that the cancer is back. Judie has Multiple Myeloma, cancer of the plasma. This cancer settles in the bone marrow and spreads multiple tumors. There is no cure for Multiple Myeloma and the treatments are very expensive. Judie needs thousands of dollars to assist with her medications and treatment. Judie’s insurance does not cover most of the expenses related to her cancer. Judie’s fellow Realtors are joining together to lead a series of fundraising events to raise funds that will allow her to begin treatment as soon as possible. The sooner Judie receives treatment, the better. In spite of the battle that Judie is facing, she is never short of having a most positive outlook and of having time to assist other cancer patients. Her nutrition plan followed during her initial cancer battle has been shared with other cancer patients. Judie’s testimonial of the importance of good nutrition that is required for healing and maintenance of good health is well known. • Friends of Judie Summer Fling BBQ, Car Show and Softball Tournament, Saturday, July 14, 5 p.m., I-85 to exit 28, turn left hwy 54, on the left, Hogansville, GA Phone Dana 404-597-6198, Hugh 678-378-8383 or Raquel 706-594-0017 • Friends of Judie Golf Tournament, Thursday, July 26, Shotgun start at 10 a.m., Cannongate at Summergrove Golf Course; Registration due by July 19.
