Twilight Theatre Company will wrap up their very successful production of “Les Miserables: the School Edition” this weekend with performances at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday night at the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater.

Based on the classic book of the same name by Victor Hugo, “Les Miserables” is the story of French prisoner Jean Valjean and his redemption during the turbulent years after Napoleon in the early 1800s.

The story also includes the student rebellion of 1832, when college students attempted a second French Revolution, only to find they were not joined by the war-weary poor of France.

Over 100 young singers and actors auditioned for the production and 60 were cast. Alison Chambers is directing the show and the assistant director is Robbie Kirkland.

The role of Jean Valjean is taken on by recent Fayette County High graduate Trevor Martin. Martin turns out a stellar performance, commanding the stage for much of the show with both a talent for acting and singing.

Experienced actress and singer Amy Hebel takes on the role of working mother Fantine and her daughter Cosette is played by Starr’s Mill graduate Emma Stitt. Actor Trevor Comeau keeps the audience in stitches with his hilarious performance as Thenardier. Young actress Shannon Wade masters the role of cheeky Gavroche.

Tickets for the show can be purchased at the amphitheater box office or at any TicketMaster location. For more information, call 770-631-0630 or visit www.TheTwilightTheatre.com .
