The fourth annual Fayette Idol singing contest will be held Friday, July 13 at 7 p.m. at the Villages Amphitheater. Two groups of contestants, age five through 12 and 13 and older, compete in this popular real life show.

Fifty contestants will compete for a prize package including $200 cash and a $50 savings bond from Regions Bank. Each contestant will give the audience a one-minute sample of their voice. Next, a panel of judges will narrow the two age groups down to five contestants each. Then, those ten contestants will sing their song in its entirety.

Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under. The gates open at 6 p.m. and the first Fayette hopeful sings at 7 p.m.

Tickets are still available for the remaining 2007 Summer Concert Series concerts. One of this year’s American Idol guest judges, Peter Noone of Herman’s Hermits, will perform on Sat., July 14, Rich Little on July 21, Dionne Warwick on Aug. 11 and Lonestar on Sept. 8.
