Lance Corporal Joshua David Isaac, USMC, 23, Peachtree City, died July 7, 2007. He was born June 11, 1984 in Kansas City, Mo. He died from injuries received June 30, 2003 during a water training accident with the United States Marine Corps.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, G.T. and Justine Dukes Brooks, Morganfield, Ky., and great-grandparents, Rebie and Ruth Brooks, White Plains, Ky. He was a 2003 graduate of McIntosh High School and had been accepted at the University of South Carolina, where he planned to major in Criminal Justice. He was an Eagle Scout and a volunteer firefighter with the Peachtree City Fire Department. He was the 2001 Georgia state representative to the FBI National Academy Youth Leadership Program in Quantico, Va., and Vice President of Finance for the FBINAA Youth Leadership Alumni Association. After his accident he was made an honorary member of the FBI National Academy Georgia Graduate's Association. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Peachtree City Fire Department providing full honors. The Rev. Dr. Jimmy Ellison, the Rev. Warren Huddleston, and Pastor John Weber officiating. Interment, with full military honors, was at Oddfellows Cemetery, Madisonville, Ky.

Survivors include his mother, Malia Brooks Isaac, Peachtree City; sister, Jillian Brooke Isaac, Peachtree City; father and step-mother, Keith and Jennifer Maichel Isaac, Moreland; and paternal grandparents, Sam and Flo Isaac, Moreland. Memorial donations may be made to the Coma Stimulation Program at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, 1687 Tullie Circle NE, Atlanta, GA 30329, or The Peachtree City Volunteer Firefighters Association, 105 Peachtree Parkway North, Peachtree City, GA 30269. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.
