The Fayette County Chamber of Commerce is adding an exciting dimension to its 2007 Job Fair and Business Expo. As part of its “Entrepreneur Friendly” efforts, the Chamber, working with the Georgia Department of Labor, will include an Entrepreneur Extravaganza event presented by the Fayette County Development Authority in the Chamber’s Business Expo September 25 from 3 – 7 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church’s North Campus in Fayetteville. Representatives from a broad variety of state and local agencies will have displays and personnel available to assist entrepreneurs and small business owners learn about the resources available to help them start-up and build their businesses. The Entrepreneur Extravaganza is part of the Fayette County Chamber and the Fayette County Development Authority’s joint initiative to gain “Entrepreneur Friendly Community” designation for Fayette County from the state of Georgia by facilitating a community-based program that helps encourage an entrepreneurial environment. Fayette County Development Authority President and CEO, Matt Forshee says, “Small business and entrepreneurs are a vital component of the local economy. This forum will prove to be a resource that helps diversify and grow Fayette’s business community.” The Extravaganza is just a part of the overall events Monday and Tuesday. With the premise “Find it in Fayette”, beginning September 24 from 3 p.m. – 7 pm., the Chamber, in concert with the Georgia Department of Labor, will host its second annual Job Fair at the New Hope location. Last year’s Job Fair showcased approximately 60 employers and had over 1,000 jobseekers from the Metro-Atlanta area. Jobseekers are encouraged to visit the displays and talk with the various companies and organizations in attendance. Resume writing assistance, interviewing techniques and other resources will also be available that day. Then on September 25 from 3 –7 p.m. the Business Expo opens, along with the Entrepreneur Extravaganza, to the public. The Find it in Fayette Business Expo is the largest trade show in Fayette County, giving community members an opportunity to see a wide range of products and services provided by businesses located in their own backyard. There is no charge for the public to attend. For businesses interested in sponsoring or exhibiting in either the Job Fair or the Business Expo, please contact the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce at 770-461-9983 or http://www.fayettechamber.org/expo.htm.
