Peeples K-Kids honored by PTC mayor

Peeples Elementary is the home of the first organized K-Kids Club in the Peachtree City area. K-Kids is a student-led community-service organization, which operates under school regulations and draws its members from the elementary school student body.

It is the youngest and fastest growing organization for elementary-age children worldwide and is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Peachtree City.

Members of the Peeples Elementary K-Kids Club have participated in numerous activities this year, including making valentines for children in Christian City, writing letters to soldiers overseas, collecting used glasses for shipment to poor countries, making blankets for the Linus Project, and many others.

Mayor Harold Logsdon presented each child with a copy of a proclamation from the city recognizing their good citizenship. Faculty advisors for the club are Leigh Anne Borders (left) and Jayn Collins (second from right). The Kiwanis Club coordinator is Ben Backus (back row, right). There are over 600 K-Kids Clubs around the world. Peeples hopes to double their club membership next year.
