Annual Alzheimer’s Memory Walk planning underway

The big day is still over five months away, but in order for any event to be successful it must be properly planned and coordinated. As co-chairs of the 2007 Southern Crescent Alzheimer's Memory Walk on October 6, that is exactly what Iola Snow and Fred Brown of Peachtree City are doing.

The Southern Crescent area is made up of all or part of six surrounding counties, each with an Alzheimer’s chairperson. They recently met to discuss this year’s strategy needed to exceed last year’s contributions of $200,000.

Each chair will seek to recruit event sponsors and form teams. Teams consist of employees from small, medium and large businesses and organizations, and residents from subdivisions who organize into teams. Pictured from the left, front row are Dyan Matthews, south Fulton; Carol Bibbs, Fayette; Stephania Ward, Henry; back row, Iola Snow; Carol Simmons, Clayton; Lynn Yeager, Coweta; and Fred Brown. Unable to attend was Jim Ledet, Spaulding.

This is the eighth year for the walk which has raised over $1 million for the Alzheimer’s Association. For additional information visit their website at www.southernmemorywalk.org.
