The Right Reverend Dr. David J. Bena of the Convocation of Anglicans in North America (CANA) will administer the rite of Confirmation for 21 members of All Saints Anglican Church in Peachtree City on July 8. Bena currently serves as CANA’s Suffragan (assistant) Bishop in Fairfax, Virginia.

Sunday’s service involves a reaffirmation by the candidates of their faith and commitment to Jesus Christ after completing a preparatory course of study. The ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. at Huddleston Elementary School.

All Saints was formed earlier this year after the congregation walked away from the Episcopal Church over theological differences. It will move its operation to 303 Kelly Drive on July 12 according to current plans.

CANA is an orthodox missionary outreach of the Anglican Church of Nigeria. Martyn Minns was consecrated bishop last year and became the first CANA bishop in North America. A number of churches in the United States have separated from the Episcopal Church over theological differences and have joined CANA.
