Local company raises funds for March of Dimes

Debbie Pitts, of Footprints by Debbie, a one person design studio in Peachtree City, along with a team of family and friends, raised over $3,300 for the March of Dimes’ 2007 WalkAmerica Campaign! And did this primarily through on-line donations!

“It is the easiest form of fundraising, using the WalkAmerica-supplied Websites to ask for contributions,” said Debbie. “I received funds from as far away as a friend in Ireland, from Julie Conover the Host of PBS’s Passport to Adventure travel show, and as close as Peachtree City’s Attorney Eric Slepian, along with various other generous people from this area as well as around the country.”

"We all simply sent out a plea for help through our e:mail address books, and people responded!” said Debbie Pitts. “The March of Dimes is such a wonderful worthwhile organization, people are typically very happy to contribute. Now with online donations, it's become more convenient for most to give.”

The 2007 Campaign was very successful with well over 400 walkers participating in the actual Walk itself. “I hope hearing about online fundraising success stories encourages other WalkAmerica participants to try their hand at it for next year’s campaign,” said Debbie. Debbie would also like to extend her graditude for all those who Walked, Collected and Contributed to this important campaign!

Along with being artist and owner of Footprints by Debbie, and a 17 year volunteer with the March of Dimes, Debbie Pitts is also a local Realtor with Prudential Georgia Realty in Peachtree City.
