Mr. and Mrs. Danny Henderson of Sharpsburg and Mr. and Mrs. William Raymond Cardin Jr. of Macon announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Christy Leann Cardin, to William Kevin Parten, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ron L.Tipton of Newnan and Mr. and Mrs. Standly D. Parten of Sharpsburg.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ruth Henderson and the late Mallie Henderson of Marshall, N.C., and Mr. and Mrs. William Cardin of College Park, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hershel Blair of Tyrone. She is a 2001 graduate of South Gwinnett High School and a 2006 graduate of the University of West Georgia in Carrollton where she received a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She is employed at Tyrone Elementary School in Fayette County as a third grade teacher.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jack D. Parten, and Mrs. Nona W. Ware and the late William E. Ware, all of Newnan. He is a 2002 graduate of Northgate High School in Newnan. He attended Reinhardt College in Waleska and is currently attending West Georgia Technical College in LaGrange, pursuing a fire science degree. He is a firefighter with the City of Fayetteville Fire Department.

The wedding will be July 28, 2007, at the First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City. A reception will follow the ceremony at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center in Peachtree City. Following a honeymoon to St. Thomas, the couple will reside in Sharpsburg.
