Men’s cookoff planned for June 30
Release Ministries will sponsor a men’s cookoff/community outreach event Saturday, June 30, from noon until 4 p.m. at 175 Carnegie Place, Suite 105, in Fayetteville. There will be free food and fun. For more information, call the church, 770-461-5547.

PTCUMC offers ‘Let Freedom Ring’
The community is invited to a “Let Freedom Ring” celebration at Peachtree City United Methodist Church on Wednesday, July 4, at 1:30 p.m. in honor of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the nation’s 231st birthday. The Declaration of Independence will be read aloud and the church’s belfry bell will be rung for each of the 13 original states, with one person representing each state having the honor of ringing the bell. New Jerusalem to celebrate Men’s Day
New Jerusalem Fellowship Church will celebrate its annual Men’s Day, Sunday, July 8,at 9 a.m. The theme for this special occasion is “Faith Through the Eyes of Christian Men.” The guest speaker will be Reverend Leroy R. Jonesboro Baptist offers ‘Celebrate America’
Jonesboro First Baptist Church and the City of Jonesboro will co-sponsor “Concert in the Park,” an annual “Celebrate America Salute to God and Country” Sunday, July 1, at 8 p.m. in front of the old Jonesboro Courthouse on McDonough Street in Jonesboro. The Celebration Choir and Orchestra of First Baptist Jonesboro will perform in concert, there will be a military fly-by and a fireworks show after the concert.
