KLMK Group will lead project management of the new hospital facility for residents of Coweta County, Michael Bass, Piedmont Newnan Hospital President and CEO, announced at the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce Business After-Hours event. KLMK, a national leader in providing comprehensive healthcare facility solutions, is headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, and will have a physical presence in Newnan beginning Monday. "We are extremely excited to partner with KLMK," said Bass. "This is the first step of many yet to come toward building our new hospital." KLMK was chosen through an extensive selection process that initially involved more than 100 national firms. A steering committee including Piedmont Healthcare executives and outside experts helped to drive the final decision to move forward with KLMK. The management firm was one of three final candidates. Members of KLMK also were involved in the planning and building of Piedmont Fayette Hospital, located in Fayetteville. "We have a successful history of working with Piedmont Healthcare and are eager to work in this community," said William R. McMahon, President & COO, KLMK. "Our goal is to build a ‘hospital of the future’ and create a seamless transition for patients, families and community members into this new hospital." KLMK will coordinate multiple components of the project, including the design and construction of the new hospital. They will also facilitate the move and transition, and ensure that employee training programs are in place to minimize interruptions in patient care. Currently, Piedmont Newnan Hospital is in the process of developing the Certificate of Need (CON) application to build a new replacement hospital. Over the past two months, Piedmont conducted multiple focus groups to gather area residents' input on the future healthcare and hospital needs of Coweta County. "KLMK is an experienced firm with the expertise and knowledge to build a futuristic hospital to serve the healthcare needs of this community," said Bass. "While we have not yet selected a location for the new facility, it was extremely important to engage a project management firm early in the process." As KLMK leads the new facility project, the Piedmont Newnan Hospital leadership team will remain focused on day-to-day operations and positive changes at the current hospital facility to enhance the patient experience. login to post comments |
