Huddleston is new senior pastor at Providence UMC

Warren Huddleston has been appointed by Bishop Lindsay Davis of the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church to be the new senior minister at Providence UMC.

Huddleston, and his wife, Camilla, grew up in Griffin and still have many family members in the area.

“My father grew up in Fayetteville, and I remember well visiting my grandmother, Annie Huddleston, in Fairburn when I was a young boy,” Huddleston said. For the past five years, he has been the senior pastor at Clayton First UMC in Rabun County.

The Huddlestons have purchased a home in Fayetteville and say they look forward to having their large family come to visit. They have five sons, three daughters-in-law and seven grandchildren with an eighth due in August.

“I am excited that Providence has a new children’s building, and look forward to my grandchildren participating in the program when they are visiting, Huddleston said. “We already feel like we’re home again because of the warm welcome we have received since we moved to town.”

When asked about his vision for Providence, Huddleston says, “We look forward to continuing the ministry that the Lord has begun through the Providence church family. These are exciting times for Providence and we are honored that God chose us to be His servants in Fayette County.”

Huddleston will preach his first sermon at Providence Sunday, June 24, during traditional worship services at 9 and 11:11 a.m. and contemporary worship at 10 a.m.

Providence United Methodist Church is at 592 Bernhard Road in southern Fayette County, between Redwine Road and Ga. Hwy. 85. For more information call 770-719-8800 or check the website, www.provumc.com.
