James L. Mitchell, 87, Fayetteville, died Dec. 1, 2005. He was born Aug. 10, 1918 in Fayetteville, son of Thomas Jefferson and Nanny Mae Collier Mitchell Sr. He had served as a Fayette County commissioner from 1974 through 1976. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Frank Ellis, and the Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include his wife, Dot Mitchell, Fayetteville; daughters, Elaine Mayfield, Mary Helen and John Young, all of Fayetteville, and Melanie and Bob Kiely, Kennesaw; grandchildren, Laurie and Al Barahona, Josh and Nicholas Young, and Mitch and Nathan Kiely; and great-grandson, A. J. Barahona. Memorial donations may be made to the Fayetteville First Baptist Building Fund. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge. login to post comments |
