Fayetteville Planning & Zoning commissioners heard a request Tuesday that could lead to the annexation and rezoning of two properties on Ga. Highway 54 West.

Dogwood Forest assisted living center located on 4.87 acres at 1297 Hwy. 54 West has requested the move into the city. The annexation would allow the facility to connect to Fayetteville’s sewer system.

Also requesting the move are the owners of a 3.85-acre site at 1231 Hwy. 54 West, the proposed location of a 40,000 square-foot, three-story medical office building.

Both properties are in proximity to Piedmont-Fayette Community Hospital.

The commission will consider a vote on the measures at the June 26 regular session.
