The Father Time Invitational Road Race is the beginning of a new tradition that will take place in Fayette County, on December 31 every year. The race is open to everyone. The goals are to provide a safe, fun and healthy celebration on New Year’s Eve in a community atmosphere and to provide financial support to high school cross country and; track and field programs in Fayette County. There are no paid positions in the Father Time Foundation and Father Time Road Race organization. The 2005 hosts are the City of Brooks and the Brooks Recreation Department with supporting help from Fayette County Sheriffs and Fire & Emergency Service Department. Alcohol is not permitted at the Brooks Football Field or Start/Finish Areas of the race.

Q&A

What is the minimum age to run the Father Time Road Race?
You must be at least 12 years old on the night of the race to run and have a parent present if you are under 18.

Can I bring my pet?
We’re sorry, but no pets, bicycles, skates, etc. are permitted on the course.

I’m a very slow runner. Can I still run the race?
Runners of all abilities are welcome. If you’re relatively slow, however, you should stay toward the right hand side of the course. Be sure not to stop suddenly or veer into the paths of other runners.

Can I run the race without a number?
If you do not have a number, you’ll be directed by police or other city personnel to move to the side of the course.

What time is the race?
The race begins promptly at 11:50 p.m. so that runners will run from 2005 into 2006
