Former McIntosh and Lipscomb University standout John King was drafted Friday by the San Francisco Giants with the 524th overall pick in the 17th round of the Major League Baseball Draft.

King, a pitcher, was an all-region selection and defensive MVP at McIntosh. He graduated from McIntosh in 2003.
