‘Peter Pan’ takes flight this weekendThu, 06/07/2007 - 4:12pm

Escape to Neverland with Peter Pan as he flies into the night with Wendy, John, Michael, and Georgia Academy of Dance & the Performing Arts (GAD). This production of “Peter Pan” will be presented June 10 at 2 p.m. at The Centre of Visual and Performing Arts of Coweta County, located on Lower Fayetteville Road in Newnan. “Peter Pan,” the classic fairytale of pirates and pixie-dust, is brought to stage with creativity and excitement under the direction of Sherri Davis, owner and director of GAD, with help from Flying by Foy. Coming to Peachtree City from Las Vegas, Nevada, Flying by Foy is the original stunt flying company of Cirque du Soleil and the original Peter Pan that flew Mary Martin in 1960. Audiences will be taken to a magical land filled with mysterious mermaids, humorous lost boys, bumbling pirates and of course, the vengeful, Captain Hook. Characters will soar through the night, mermaids will appear from below the lagoon, Captain Hook will tango with the crocodile, and every child will be thrilled with the electrifying sword fight between Captain Hook and Peter Pan while in flight across the auditorium!
