Physicians at Piedmont Fayette Hospital are in the spirit of giving this holiday season. The medical staff recently presented a gift for the hospital auxiliary to purchase an additional six-passenger golf cart for the campus courtesy shuttle service.

"The courtesy shuttle helps our patients, their families and visitors find their way around our growing campus and parking," said John Goza, chairman of the PFH medical staff. “These volunteers offer assistance and compassion that can lessen the anxiety of a visit to the hospital or doctor.”

The cart is the hospital's second six-passenger shuttle vehicle and will be used to transport patients and visitors around the campus this holiday season and year round. Since the service began in April, volunteer cart drivers have transported more than 12,000 patients and visitors on the hospital campus. The shuttle service is complimentary.

"It is a wonderful feeling knowing that I can make the day a little easier for hospital patients and their families," said Mark Poole, courtesy shuttle driver at Piedmont Fayette Hospital. “I meet nice people here every day, and the friendships that I have made are very rewarding.”

The holiday season brings the spirit of giving back to the community. There are many areas at Piedmont Fayette Hospital to volunteer. Give back to the community this holiday by joining the PFH Auxiliary and even becoming a courtesy shuttle driver.
