Some lanes of Interstate 85 in Coweta County will be closed from Sunday through Thursday as part of an ongoing construction project. The closure are at varying locations south of Ga. Highway 34 and will shift daily within these locations. Shoulders are closed in these construction areas, and extreme caution should be observed.
On northbound I-85, a lane will be closed June 3-June 7 from 7 p.m. through 5 a.m. the following day at milepost 41. All lanes are open 5 a.m. through 7 p.m. daily.
In the southbound lanes, the outside lane will be closed at milepost 35 on June 5 and June 6 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, and at milepost 38 from June 3 through June 7 from 7 p.m. to 4 p.m. the following day.
The entire project is expected to be completed December 31, 2009. During this construction period, motorists can expect shoulder and lane closures on a continuing basis.
