Harold R. "Hal" Turner, 61, Fayetteville, died May 26, 2007. He was born Aug. 19, 1945 to Edward M. and Janie Kathleen Turner in Moultrie. He was graduated from Maury High School in Norfolk, Va. in 1963. He served in the United States Army for two years in Ethiopia during the Vietnam War. He received an MBA from the University of Georgia in 1971 and began a lifelong career in the insurance business. His family lived up and down the East coast and to LaGrange, Ga. For the last 10 years, he owned and operated L. P. Baker Insurance Agency, Tyrone.

A memorial service will be tomorrow, Thursday, May 31, at St. Andrew's in-the-Pines Episcopal Church, Peachtree City. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Patricia Ann Waters Turner, whom he married Sept. 19, 1969; mother, Kathleen Cooper, Virginia Beach; a brother, James Wesley Turner, McDonough; a sister, Janie Stienmetz, Virginia Beach; daughters, Molly and Garrett Bachtel, Leigh Ann and Domenic Ravita, Erin and Steve Kagey, and Sarah McDowell Turner; and eight grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to The Scleroderma Foundation, Attn. Donations, 300 Rosewood Drive, Ste. 105, Danvers, MA 01923. Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.
