I just wanted to let you know something that happened today that I thought newsworthy. I work with the Army Reserve here in Peachtree City as a contractor. Today is the birthday of our Chief Warrant Officer Edward Gardner. We planned a luncheon at Longhorn Steakhouse in PTC.

There were about 40 of us there with 75 to 80 percent military in uniform. Most of these men and women have done tours in Iraq.

Not only was the service for a group that large excellent, but the surprise came when it was time for us to get our checks.

The manager came out to tell us that a gentleman customer at another table asked to pick up all the checks for both tables and to let the folks in uniform know how much he appreciated what they were doing.

Wow! If he could have see the faces of all those there, it would have been worth the enormous amount I know he paid.

Needless to say we all were blessed by his act of kindness and generosity. I just wanted to say thank you to that gentlemen today. Thank you for doing what a lot of us wish we could!
