By: Letters to the ...
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to commend the late Judge Andrew Whalen Jr., who dedicated his life to serving the people of Georgia. We also extend our condolences to his family and friends. For decades, Judge Whalen has demonstrated his commitment to our constitutional judicial system of law by serving as an outstanding attorney, solicitor general, and judge. To many of his contemporaries he was considered tough, but fair. He possessed an encyclopedic understanding of the law and was extremely influential in educating younger judges and attorneys. Most important, Judge Whalen was known as a Southern gentleman who loved his family and his community. Speaking for all of Judge Whalen’s fellow members of the State Bar of Georgia, I thank him for his lifetime of service toward fulfilling the constitutional promise of justice for all Americans. He will be missed by all. Jay Cook, President State Bar of Georgia login to post comments |
