Fayette 2nd in nation for larger homes

Fayette County ranked second in the nation in 2005 of communities with the highest percentage of homes having four or more bedrooms, according to statistics recently released by the U.S. Census Bureau.

Fayette, where 45.5 percent of the homes have four or more bedrooms, came in second to Davis County, Utah which had a whopping 49.4 of its homes qualify in that category.

The average across the country was 20 percent in 2005, up from 17.7 percent in 2000, according to Census officials.

The data comes from a new analysis of information from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey, which was conducted in 2005. Data from single family homes, townhomes apartment complexes and mobile homes are included in the figures.
