On May 18, 2007, John and Lila Nunnally celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. To mark the occasion, their children, Bob and Sue Nunnally of Savannah, LeAnn and Lee Coleman of Fayetteville, Charles Nunnally of Fairburn, and their grandson, Will Nunnally of Boston, hosted a luncheon in their honor for family and friends at the Historic Green Manor in Union City. Reared on the Hapeville campus of the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home, the Nunnallys were married at Hapeville First Baptist Church on May 18, 1957. Mr. Nunnally graduated from Mercer University and taught at Georgia Southern University and in the Clayton and Fulton County School Systems for more than 45 years. Following retirement, he worked for Delta Airlines in a number of administrative positions. Mrs. Nunnally served as a medical transcriptionist for Georgia Baptist and South Fulton Hospitals. She retired from the profession following a 20-year career with Bell and Meltzer Pathology Group in College Park. The Nunnally’s are active members in a number of organizations including The Georgia Baptist Children’s Home Alumni Association and the Cross Roads Garden Club. Long time residents of Hapeville and College Park, they currently reside in Fairburn. login to post comments |
