It is nice gesture to give someone a ride, but things can turn bad even if the person is an acquaintance. That was the lesson learned May 3 by three women from the Fairburn, Fayetteville and College Park areas.

The incident in south Fulton ended with 29 year-old East Point resident Tsenre Mosley charged with carjacking, three counts of armed robbery, three counts of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a knife during the commission of a crime, according to Fairburn Det. Charles Israel.

The incident began as the three women visiting the Old National area agreed to give Mosley a ride to his home. Mosley was known to one of the women as a former customer at her previous place of employment, Israel said. Initially indicating that he lived on Washington Road, Mosley balked at providing his address as the women drove around the south Fulton area. Becoming frustrated with his lack of response, the women threatened to drop him off at the Union City Police Department, said Israel.

The vehicle’s frustrated driver began heading in the direction of her home, a short distance away in Fairburn. While in transit, Mosley became agitated and irate, Israel said. As the driver pulled up to her residence, Mosley produced a knife and swung at the women. Two of the women received superficial cuts in the area of their hands before exiting the vehicle, said Israel. With the women fleeing the car, Mosley got behind the wheel and drove off.

Mosley was arrested by Fairburn Police May 7 at a Red Lobster restaurant in East Point, Israel said. The vehicle was recovered along I-85 in College Park.
