Channel 2 - Dazed and Confused

Drove by City Hall and saw Channel 2 had their TV van out there. Wondered what the hubub was about. Missed the story on the news, but here's what the online version of it was. An interesting side note is WHEN Channel 2 believes the tree lighting takes place. I could've SWORN I saw all those golf carts there Saturday. Perhaps some misdirection was given?

PEACHTREE CITY -- A Christmas tree fight is brewing in Peachtree City.

On Monday night city officials will light what they are calling a "Grand Tree".

The head of a local American Legion post wants to see the tree called a Christmas Tree.

John Zarrillo, head of Post 50, says calling the tree a "Grand Tree" is declaring war on Christmas.

He is calling for Legionnaires to boycott the ceremony.

But mayor Steve Brown thinks politics may be behind the call for a boycott.

He is involved in a runoff with a member of the Legion post.

Zerillo discussed his concerns about Peachtree City's terminology with Logsdon, but Logsdon said he didn't recommend a boycott.

"It's not politically motivated," Logsdon said. "I'm not so upset that I'm going to avoid it. It's still a Christmas celebration to me."
