The accident involving an automobile which crashed through the storefront at Freedom Medical Solutions was well covered by The Citizen. Your photographer was one of the first people at the scene.

Thanks to all the Fayetteville emergency personnel as well, who responded quickly and professionally.

I would like to send very special kudos to Trey Smith and Charles Haralson who work at the Midas Muffler at Hudson Plaza.

When they heard the crash, they immediately came to the aid of the driver, making their way through broken glass and heavy smoke to pull her from the vehicle to safety. Then they came back inside, turned off the ignition, and disconnected the batteries from the smoking vehicle.

They acted bravely, and without regard to their personal safety. Their actions kept the driver from further injury, and kept our building from catching on fire.
