Lace up your running shoes, because it’s that time again, time for the 15th Annual Old Courthouse 5K Road Race, to be run Saturday, May 19 in Fayetteville.

Sponsored by the Fayette County Civitan Club, this year's Old Courthouse 5K proceeds once again go right back into community assistance organizations, including the Joseph Sams School, ExceptionalOPS, Southwest Christian Care, Fayette County Special Olympics and other care giving organizations.

The Fayette County Civitan Club, is a local community service club, a part of Civitan International, and is dedicated to helping those that can't help themselves. The race will begin at 8 a.m. behind the Old Fayette County Courthouse, in the parking lot of the Fayetteville First Baptist Church.

Race Day Registration will begin at 7 a.m. All pre-registrants are urged to arrive early for quick check-in.

Each race registrant will receive a heavy 100% cotton T-shirt with original artwork by Fayette County’s own Ed and Patsy Gullet. Accomplished artists, the Gullets are the creators of the depot mural in town center and are the founders of the Old Courthouse Art Show.

Overall Male and Female winners receive Old Courthouse 5k etched-glass trophies, and all First and Second place male and female runners in each age group receive a dated, etched-glass Old Courthouse 5K medallion with ribbon.
