The Flat Rock Middle Band is one of the most decorated in their district.

The band participated in the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) District VI Solo/Ensemble Festival and walked away with 95 superior and 24 excellent ratings –garnering more ratings than any other band in the district.

“This is just another continued success story of the band program,” says Band Director Deborah L. Baker.

Individual students and small groups worked over the past two months to perfect their music in order to showcase their musical achievements for the year which includes being selected to perform at the Georgia Music Educators Conference this past January and all three concert bands receiving superior ratings at the GMEA District VI Large Group Performance Evaluation, as well as premiering a new piece of literature this past fall.
