The 9 mm handgun seized by Fairburn Police last month after the arrest of 20 year-old Savannah resident Garron Campbell has been confirmed as the murder weapon in a recent Savannah homicide.

Det. Ben Pace said Thursday that Savannah detectives confirmed the link between the handgun and the south Georgia murder.

Campbell and his 24 year-old cousin Gary Campbell were charged last month on multiple violations after police noticed their vehicle circling United Community Bank on Washington Street. A traffic stop led to the discovery of the handgun in Garron Campbell’s possession. Garron Campbell was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed weapon, first degree forgery, felony obstruction and cruelty to children.

Garron Campbell was later identified and charged in the March armed robbery of Canapusa grocery store on Senoia Road.

At the time of his arrest last month, Garron Campbell was wanted by Glynn County on four counts of aggravated assault and was included on the county’s 10 Most Wanted list.
