The Twilight Theatre will hold auditions for their most highly anticipated show of their second season, "Les Miserables," the School Edition. Auditions begin this Monday. All actors and actresses must be between 10 and 19 years old. The audition schedule is divided by age and gender: May 14, 10-12 year old girls at 5 p.m.; 13-15 year old boys at 6:30 p.m.; 16-19 year old girls at 7:30 p.m.; May 15, 10-12 year old boys at 5 p.m.; 13-15 year old girls at 6 p.m.; 16-19 year old boys at 7:30 p.m. Callbacks will be on May 17 at 6 p.m.

Both auditions and callbacks will be held at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, 175 East Lanier Avenue in Fayetteville. Performances will be at the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater on July 6, 7, 13, and 14. All roles are available, and along with several principle and solo parts, there will be a large chorus cast.

"This is going to be a phenomenal show and is a tremendous opportunity to showcase the incredible talent we have in our community. There are numerous solos in the chorus alone, so I encourage everyone interested to audition. It's going to be an experience not to be missed,” said artistic director Alison Chambers, who will also be directing and music directing the show.

Audition requirements, as well as audition forms, are posted on the Twilight website, www.TheTwilightTheatre.com. One of the forms needs to be signed by a parent if the person auditioning is under 18. In the interest of time, those who audition are encouraged to download these forms in advance and to bring them to auditions.

Based on the book by Victor Hugo, "Les Miserables" has been called "The Musical That Swept the World" and has been translated into 21 different languages. The School Edition is only slightly different from the original and features the same remarkable music.
